Top Winter Walks in North Norfolk

Frosty winter walks are a perfect way to blow away the winter cobwebs, revitalise in the fresh air and walk off a delicious roast dinner. North Norfolk has a variety of coastline, farmland and park walks all of which can be accessed all year round, even in the winter. The benefit for dog walkers is that most beaches are open up to dogs, unlike the summer months when beach exclusions apply. Although you might want to wrap up warm, a crispy winter walk is a great way to spend time together in between festivities and into the new year.

If you are holidaying in the area, don’t be put off by the time of year, you will still find plenty to do and a walk is one of life’s simple pleasures. For those looking for somewhere to stay, our North Norfolk holiday cottages are perfect for cosying up after a long winter’s walk and are even dog-friendly. Norfolk Coast Path

The Norfolk Coast Path is 87 miles long, but each section is broken up into more manageable walks that take you along beautiful coastal scenery. One of our favourite sections of the path is between Burnham Overy and Holkham. Taking you across sand dunes beside the ocean it’s a perfect walk for dog walkers and families, just remember to wrap up warm.

Brancaster Staithe

A circular walk is a great way to explore and end up back where you started to warm up and get something to eat. The 5 mile circular walk at Brancaster Staithe consists of saltmarshes, woodlands and views of the sailing boats. The route comes to a highpoint at Barrow Common and gives you breathtaking views of the coast.
