Woodforde’s Brewery

One of the most well-known Norfolk breweries is Woodfordes. Running from the 1980s, Woodfordes Brewery was one of the first in the area. The founder Parson Woodforde, was well known for his passion for good food and ale, which he began to brew himself, and these values have been continued through the ale today. For those interested in the process, brewery tours are available, taking you through the various stages of production and why their beer has a unique flavour. At the end of the tour, you are invited to a beer-tasting session where you can sample their seasonal flavours and classic range. Some of their most well-known flavours include Nelson’s Bitter and Bure Gold.

Humpty Dumpty Brewery

Located in the Norfolk Broads, the Humpty Dumpty Brewery is a multi award winning microbrewery that supplies unique ales to pubs and shops across East Anglia. It is most well known for its golden bitter, Little Sharpie, its amber ales, Swallowtail and its citrus based Broadland Sunrise. The microbrewery also has a range of seasonal beers including its Easter Good and Bad Egg beers and the Christmas Crackling range. Although they don’t currently run tours there is an onsite shop selling local produce and the full range of ales.

Yetman’s Brewery

Just outside of Holt, the Yetman’s Brewery is located in a 200 year old barn surrounded by barley fields. Brewed using malted barley and hop flowers, the beer has a distinct flavour and has won many awards including Champion Cast Bitter 2019.

Chalk Hill Brewery

One of the longest running independent breweries, Chalk Hill Brewery brews bitters, milk stout, golden ale, IPA and ruby ale. The ale is brewed with malt from local maltings and the finest hops. Tours are available around the custom built 15 barrel plant on request, showing you the brewing process, and revealing how the award winning Chalk Hill ales are created.

Poppyland Brewery

Located in Cromer, this award winning brewery was founded in 2012. It is known for its distinctive brews from foraged plants giving people the opportunity to taste the local produce and flavours from the area. The artisan beer is brewed in small quantities and bottled and casked all in house.
