Galleries and Museums to Explore in North Norfolk

RNLI Henry Blogg Museum

Ideal for children and those who love the sea, the RNLI Henry Blogg Museum is located on Cromer Promenade, just off the beach. The museum details Henry Blogg and his dog Monte’s life as well as a deep history of the RNLI lifeboats. There are lifeboats on display and activities to keep your children entertained.

City of Norwich Aviation Museum

Located on the edge of the Norwich International Airport, the Norwich Aviation Museum has both indoor and outdoor exhibits. With 30 commercial and military aircraft onsite and sections dedicated to the history of the RAF, this one is not to be missed for those who love aeroplanes.

Muckleburgh Collection

The Muckleburgh Military Collection is located at Weybourne and is one of the UK's largest, privately owned musuem. It's collection includes a wide range of tanks, armoured vehicles, missiles and ships. Occassionally, vehicles are demonstrated with uniforms, weapons and documents are on display throughout the year.

Thursford Collection

Thursford's steam engine collection is renowned for having the world's largest collection of steam engines and organs. The collection includes steam engines, mechnical organs and fairground rides, which can be experienced through sight, sound and touch.

The Gallery

Located in the town centre of Holt, The Gallery is a leading local art venue showcasing artists and hosting regular exhibitions. The award-winning gallery regularly updates and changes its exhibitions, focusing on a mixture of subject matter and medium based themes. Local artists are also featured with Kieron Williamson whose remarkable talent for painting earned him worldwide recognition at just the age of six.

Bircham Gallery

This independent gallery is also located in Holt, displaying a collection of contemporary and modern British art across a variety of different mediums including prints, ceramics, jewellery, glass and metalwork. Exhibitions are changed regularly so there is always something new to discover and inspire when visiting.

The Gallery Norfolk

Based in Cromer, The Gallery Norfolk is home to hand-picked paintings, limited edition prints, ceramics and sculptures created by local artists and often depicting scenes inspired by the coast. Most of the artwork and jewellery displayed are available for purchase, meaning you can take home a bit of North Norfolk and relive your holiday.

Fairfax Gallery

This gallery, located in Burnham Market, gives you the opportunity to view and purchase contemporary art and sculptures. The works are created by award winning and emerging talent from across the UK, definitely worth a visit to view a wide range of styles and subject matter.
