Best Restaurants in North Norfolk

North Norfolk is home to beautiful scenery, stunning coastlines and fertile farmland. Locally sourced products and high quality ingredients are at the heart of numerous restaurants and pubs that are dotted throughout the region, offering guests seasonal menus that showcase what Norfolk has to offer.

Our holiday cottages are perfect for romantic breaks, as we know that when visiting Norfolk there are so many different culinary delights that have to be experienced. From fresh seafood caught just off the coast, to fruits and vegetables, the majority of what you will eat in Norfolk restaurants will be produced locally. With such a range of high quality restaurants and cuisine types, it can be difficult to choose which ones to visit. Below are a few of our favourites that we highly recommend to all of our family, friends and guests.

The Hunworth Bell

Lovingly referred to by its former name, The Hunny Bell, this stunning country pub is located just under 6 miles from our holiday cottages. The menu consists of a selection of local ales and produce, showcasing the best that Norfolk has to offer. The 18th century pub is perfectly situated on the village green, making a popular choice for drinks in the summer in its beautiful beer garden. Its great reputation means booking in advance is highly recommended, whether that be for a doorstop ploughman’s at lunch or a dressed Cromer crab in the evening.

Morston Hall

Just two miles from Blakeney, and home to Patron Chef Galton Blackinston, Morston Hall is a firm favourite with locals and visitors alike. The restaurant has been a Michelin star holder for 21 years and showcases the finest seasonal produce, popular with diners to celebrate life’s special moments. The seven course tasting menu available for evening diners changes daily, so no matter how many times you visit, each is an exceptional and new tasting experience. Booking is essential for those wishing to visit.

The King’s Head

The King’s Head in Bawburgh is a stand out gastropub dining experience. Close to the local markets, produce and seasonal vegetables take pride of place on the menu which, apart from the King’s classics, changes monthly. Winner of the 2023 Good Food Award Blue Ribbon for Delicious Dishes and a two AA Rosette holder since 2014, the pub is held in high regard by locals and visitors. The A La Carte dining menu is served for both lunch and dinner which is accompanied by the 48.5 mile menu, which is made up of dishes created from produce which is supplied by local businesses within a 48.5 mile radius.

In the heart of Norwich, Benedicts is a high quality restaurant established by Patron Chef Richard Bainbridge. Awarded 3 AA Rosettes and consecutive Michelin Stars this restaurant is not to be missed. The menu is updated every 4-5 weeks to reflect the best in-season produce. There is also the Sewing Room available which is perfect for private dining events.

The Dial House

The Dial House at Reepham operates on the premise of fine produce, not fine dining. Chef Patron Andrew Jones works closely with local producers and farmers to source the freshest, high quality ingredients to cook with. Each meal is cooked over sustainably sourced charcoal on a Bertha BBQ oven. The menus include a set menu, a la carte, sunday lunch and childrens menu all of which feature local produce.

The Wiveton Bell

Just a mile from Blakeney, the Wiveton Bell is surrounded by the stunning North Norfolk coast. Awarded 2 AA Rosettes and a Micheline Bib Gourmand, the locally sourced menus and beautiful gardens are well worth a visit after a visit to the beach. The Bib Gourmand award recognises their friendly atmosphere and ability to provide mouth watering food at an affordable price point of three courses for under £30, and is one of only three restaurants in the area to hold this accolade. The menu changes regularly, to highlight the seasonal produce available, but you can expect to find local beef, fish and venison along with other tantalising dishes.

Awarded “Restaurant of the Year” for 2022-23, Socius, offers a unique dining experience for visitors and guests. The open plan kitchen and restaurant are designed to create a social dining experience, where you can not only enjoy locally sourced dishes, but also watch them being created.
