Local Charities

The Estate is proud to be able to support local charities and fundraising events to benefit the local community and help to improve the lives of others.

Charity Work

The Estate and Charities

One of our goals is to support and promote the local economy and community. We try to do this by using local businesses and suppliers where possible throughout our Estate. Alongside this focus, the Estate continues to support and hold events for charities and causes close to its heart including; The Treehouse Charity, East Anglian Air Ambulance, Riding for the Disabled Association, Country Food Trust and the Game & Wildlife Conservation Trust. These remarkable charities support and provide help to a variety of people throughout Norfolk and the UK, and as such we are proud to be able to support them and shed light on their invaluable services.

Previous Fundraiser

On 27th June 2021 we were proud to support the Norfolk Coast Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA) and the East Anglian Air Ambulance by providing use of the Estate for a charity horse ride.

Norfolk Coast Riding for the Disabled Association provides children and adults with a range of different disabilities the opportunity to experience working with and riding horses and ponies. Their aim is to enrich the lives of their riders, providing sensory opportunities and fun by catering for first time riders and non-mounted equine experiences.

Saving lives throughout Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire and Bedfordshire, the East Anglian Air Ambulance is a critical charity supporting our local communities through donations. The incredible teams provide a 24/7 fast response service with the aim of saving more lives throughout the region by supporting advanced care on scene and fast transportation to hospital.

Over 50 riders took part which helped to raise over £5,000 for the two charities. We are happy to be able to support this cause again this year, with a sponsored ride and walk taking place on the 29th May 2022.

For more information about this year’s ride and how you can get involved please visit their website here.

The Treehouse Charity

The Treehouse Charity is run by a fantastic team of volunteers offering local coffees, cakes and bakes, sensory gardens, social spaces and a community fridge to people in and around Holt. The community fridge is stocked with produce donated from local businesses, helping to reduce food waste and provide free supplies to those in need. They combine their aim of helping the local community and the environment and regularly host educational opportunities and classes for children.

We are proud to have helped such an important charity by donating fruit trees from the Holt Garden Centre to further develop their gardens. The produce from these trees and plants will go towards the community fridge and be used in recipes within the café. Alongside our partnership with Kings, we were also able to donate seed and plant mixtures to aid in the creation of their wildflower garden, providing safe areas for people and children to explore.

For more information on supporting this charity don’t hesitate to visit their website and find out more about the amazing work they undertake here.

Country Food Trust

The Country Food Trust provides game-based meals to people in need. Their aim was to feed 1 million people 5 years after their launch, this has amazingly been surpassed already and continue to deliver meals to communities in need.

The Estate often holds private shoots, where the game is donated to this and other charities. On the 4th November 2021, as well as four other local Estates auctioned a days shooting, raising over £70,000, with all proceeds being donated to the Game & Wildlife Conservation Trust.

Not only do they cook and supply readymade, nutritional meals with recipes from Chef Tim Maddams, they also provide meat to other charities that cook for those in need. We are proud to be able to support this charity and appreciate all the works that they undertake, find out more about them and how to get involved here.
